I got a piece of metal and hooked up the ground clamp and it actually started welding.. I asked him if it wasa welder and he said it was Wire feed , I asked then ,and he said that it was.. I then asked if I could have it in order to get it out of his way and he said yes.

Didn't have the parts that I needed in his big pile of parts, but while looking around I saw a big blue box on top of a pile of riding mowers.. It has a duty cycle over exceed limiter on it and they probably overceeded the duty cycle of it and it shut off to cool down..
